3 Things to Avoid in Your Photo Session (and what to do instead)
6 Questions to Ask your Newborn Photography
Hi there! I'm Melissa, a Northern Virginia Family & Newborn Photographer. Welcome to my journal, where you can find recent sessions, location ideas, tips for your best session, and more!
I recently had the joy of photographing my neighbors’ beautiful new baby, Sienna. As good friends, it was extra special to capture these precious moments for their family. Northern Virginia in-home Newborn Photography sessions are a favorite of mine because they are intimate and relaxed.
Sienna was a dream to work with. She was calm and content throughout the session, making it easy to get those adorable, peaceful shots. Her parents were thrilled to have the session in the comfort of their own home. This allowed them to feel at ease, and it made the experience stress-free for everyone.
When I arrived, we chose a few cozy spots with great natural light. This is one of the many reasons I love Northern Virginia in-home newborn photography. Homes in this area often have beautiful lighting, which helps create warm and natural photos. Sienna looked perfect in every setting, whether she was resting in her crib or snuggled in her parents’ arms.
This session was such a joy!
In-home sessions also allow for more personal touches. We were able to include some meaningful items from the nursery in the photos. This adds a unique, personal feel to the gallery that families can treasure for years to come.
As a newborn photographer, I understand how important it is to keep things calm and comfortable. It’s always a priority to work at the baby’s pace and ensure everyone feels relaxed. In Sienna’s case, this approach resulted in a beautiful session filled with love.
