Hi friends! If you’ve been around a while, you are not at all surprised that our family is on the move – again! I will now be a Northern VA Family Photographer! This is our 7th PCS in 13 years so we have this moving thing down!

If you don’t know me, I’m Melissa! I’m an military spouse & mom of two. I’ve have had the pleasure of photographing people with my business for over eight years. I am relocating from Montgomery, Alabama to Alexandria, VA in July 2024. I’ve successfully run my business in Texas, Hawaii, Virginia, Ohio, Alabama and now back to Virginia again! It’s a whirlwind to move so often, but I love getting connected in new places. I serve both military and civilian families alike!

 

We are an Air Force family and the Pentagon will be our 7th duty station! For more information about me, see my about page.

I specialize in families, newborns, and military events. The reason I started my business was because of my kids. I fell in love with documenting their moments. I started offering sessions to friends when we lived in Texas and built my first portfolio. Then we moved to Hawaii and I was able to serve so many military families who wanted beautiful photos on the beach, especially to share with family far away.

I restarted my business again in Virginia, opened my studio for newborns and children, & have loved exploring the Blue Ridge mountain landscapes. From there, we also went to Wright-Patterson in Ohio for two years, and one year of school in Montgomery, AL at Maxwell AFB. I am excited to be back in Virginia but in the DC area to experience all the amazing things the area has to offer, especially the great historic backdrops of the downtown mall for family sessions!

I offer full and mini sessions for families, maternity, & couples. I love working with families of all sizes – furry children included!

My love of newborn photography began with my own newborn. I offer in-home newborn sessions for a relaxed look in your own home or outside and studio sessions out of my home for a more polished, traditional newborn experience.
