Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing many beautiful weddings. Each one has been filled with its own unique love story. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and look at some of my favorite past wedding images.
Ahh, the beauty of a perfectly put together wedding, the celebrating of two people committing their lives to each other, and the family that comes together to be part of their celebration and life. Documenting these moments is truly something I am going to miss.
After lots of changes to my life lately (moving 3 times in the past 4 years being one of them!), I’ve decided to shift my focus entirely back to family photography. This change allows me to channel all my energy into capturing the special moments that define family life.
My business actually began with documenting my daughter. Capturing her growth, milestones, and everyday joys sparked a passion in me. This passion quickly grew into a career. Returning to family photography feels like going back to my roots. It reconnects me with the “why” that inspired me to pick up a camera in the first place. There’s something incredibly rewarding about preserving the genuine connections within a family. Whether it’s the laughter during a playful session with little ones or the tender moments between parents and their newborn, these memories are truly priceless.
I will continue to focus on newborns & children, families, & military event photography – all things near and dear to my heart.
As a Northern Virginia family photographer, and a military spouse, another key factor in this decision has been the frequent relocations we experience. Booking and committing to weddings has become increasingly challenging. Weddings require months, sometimes years, of planning. It’s important for couples to have a photographer who can guarantee availability. Unfortunately, the unpredictability of military life means I can’t always offer that certainty.
Does this mean I will never offer wedding photography again? Never say never! When I first became a photographer, I said I’d never get into weddings. And then I went on to photograph weddings in Hawaii, Oregon, Virginia, West Virginia, and Ohio! Who Knew. The season of life I am in allows for family photography to mesh much easier with my every day life. In the future, when life changes, maybe wedding photography will make a come back for me.
Although stepping away from weddings is not easy, I’m excited to fully dedicate myself to family photography. My goal is to be there for every family. From welcoming a new baby to celebrating milestones, and everything in between, I’m here to help you capture those moments that truly matter.
