I recently had the pleasure of photographing a sweet family in Alexandria, Virginia. They had just welcomed their second child, a beautiful baby girl. Their almost two-year-old son was also part of the session, making it even more special.

In-home sessions are perfect for newborn photography. Families feel more relaxed in their own space, and the little ones are in their natural environment. Plus, you don’t have to worry about packing up the baby and heading out.

For this session, we kept things simple. The light-filled living room was an ideal spot for capturing natural moments. Their son, just shy of two, was full of energy and curiosity. Watching him interact with his new baby sister was heartwarming. While it can sometimes be challenging to photograph toddlers, patience always pays off.

One of my favorite parts of the session was documenting the connection between the siblings. From soft kisses to giggles, these moments are priceless. It’s these raw, genuine interactions that truly make newborn photography magical.
