I absolutely loved documenting Bri & Neil’s Blue Ridge Parkway Engagement Session!
Bri & Neil are adventure-loving, outdoorsy people. Like many couples, they wanted a location that reflected their love of the outdoors and also had an amazing mountain view. Raven’s Roost Overlook is my go-to spot for engagement sessions in Blue Ridge Parkway for couples who love adventure, the outdoors, and love mountain views!
So, this was in February and it was quite chilly! However, they totally rocked this session anyway! Beware, this location is one of the most popular photo spots in the Virginia/Charlottesville area. Proceed at your own risk in the fall and peak leaf peeping times, as it can be very crowded and parking is very limited here.
Bri’s engagement ring is an absolutely stunning solitare with a simple diamond band. I love pairing the natural beauty of a ring with simple elements of nature, like this tree stump and the rock.
My best tip for engagement sessions is to choose two outfits for variety. I recommend one causal outfit and one fancier outfit. You can’t go wrong with a dress either. The blue ribbed dress Bri is wearing here is part of my client closet available for use at sessions with me too.
Engagement sessions are a great way to showcase yourself as a newly engaged couple. Engagement sessions are a fun “date” activity! You can make any engagement session a date by going out to eat afterwards, since you’re all dressed up anyway! Bri & Neil went to a local brewery after their session, for fun. In the end, I always keep engagement sessions light and fun and you get beautiful pictures to boot!
Ready to book your engagement session? I’d love to capture something magical for you and your fiancé!
