Melissa & Josh’s Libby Hill engagement session is one of my very favorites! The story behind these photos is that Melissa & Josh were supposed to have their wedding on the day we had this session. We put off their engagement session for a while because of COVID. When I knew they postponed their September wedding, I suggested we use their original wedding date to take engagement photos instead. Technically, these are their first married photos together!

We met in Richmond at Libby Hill Park in fall for a beautiful session at sunset. Melissa is a professional ballet dancer in Washington, D.C. We incorporated some of her dance into these photos for a personal touch. They are both silly at heart and had no problem being themselves in front of the camera.

I just love the fun that they had with their photos. At the end of the day, if my clients aren’t having fun during their session – what is the point?! I’m so happy my clients become comfortable and just do their thing to be part of creating magical photos like these. And I always specify that the people here are truly just like you – just normal people!

Like many couples right now, they have had to postpone their big celebration a second time due to COVID 🥺 I hope to be celebrating these two amazing people in the fall of 2021 though!

With so many couples waiting for their special day, I know it’s impossibly hard and disappointing. I promise to be your biggest cheerleader for when that day does come. I can’t wait to be at so many more weddings in 2021, finally!
