2020 was a rough year for many of us, but it was still a great year of family photography in for my business. Being a Charlottesville Family Photographer is a really meaningful job for me. So many of my clients still came out despite what was going on in the world in 2020.
I know as parents, many of us may have felt like this throughout the course of 2020…
But we did it! We helped our kids with virtual school, virtual ballet, virtual play dates – ALL the virtual things! We did copious amounts of puzzles, crafts, and dance parties with our kids until we were blue in the face and beyond exhausted, wishing for grandparents and babysitters to come to our rescue. Yes, this year was hard for parents. But that doesn’t mean this time in our lives was any less worthy of documenting. In fact, maybe it was even more important of a time to document our families, in a way to say – we did it! We’re here! We’re doing the best dang job that we can.
I love doing this type of recap post every year because it is a walk down memory lane for me and my business. I get to see all the wonderful families I worked with again and really appreciate the good that the year brought me.
Without further ado, here’s the best of 2020 Family Portraits in Charlottesville this year.
I took no sessions from March until early June because my business was closed due to COVID! My family photography season started with a few summer sessions in vineyards and the beautiful green fields of Charlottesville.
This photo is from one of my favorite sessions of the year. My favorite thing about being a Charlottesville Family Photographer is getting to see all the beautiful private property in the area, like this gorgeous family’s! This was their own land and it was so beautiful at sunset.
I had quite a few families come out for both my fall and winter mini sessions. These were the best and everyone who came out was so fun to work with!
And last but not least, I was pretty proud to have taken my own family photos this year! I just used a tripod in one of my favorite locations. Fun fact: I don’t even have a remote, it’s broken, so I had to hop into this shot! Pretty proud of this. It was on our Christmas card 🙂
Thanks for looking over this post. If you spot yourself in these photos, I can’t thank you enough for trusting me with your memories! Especially in a year such as 2020! Thank you to all my amazing family clients – you truly made my year!
